BD Singapore serves as a dynamic hub for innovation and impact, housing both regional headquarters and advanced manufacturing facilities. With over 1,400 associates across two key sites—Tuas and The Strategy @ IBP—BD Singapore supports global healthcare through the production of essential medical devices like syringes, needles, and catheters. The Tuas site is a Center of Excellence and a global shipping plant, while The Strategy @ IBP fosters collaboration and agility across business segments.

With offices and manufacturing facilities located in two sites – Tuas and The Strategy @ IBP, we have over 1400 associates supporting patients, our customers, and our mission of advancing the world of health™.

Our sites

The Strategy @ IBP (Greater Asia HQ)

In the Regional HQ, our associates are extremely passionate about their jobs and often share knowledge, ideas, and practices to deliver results that matters. Living in a multi-racial country, we have always been very accepting and respectful of each others culture, beliefs and religion. We enjoy collaborating with one another and always display great teamwork whenever working together.

The Strategy office building is situated in the western part of Singapore. It is an 8 minute walk from the nearest Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station. An office built on open concept allows us to drive better collaboration, openness, and agility amongst colleagues.

Tuas

BD MDS Tuas Plant are located in Tuas, Singapore. The site covers over 61,000 Sqm of land area in the western part of the country.

BD Tuas Plant has a positioning as a large plant that produces high volume and high value-added products. It also serves as an incubation site for Asia Pacific. This Plant is a global shipper to diverse external customers from all over the world including Asia Pacific, Europe and Americas. Over the course of 30 years, BD Tuas Plant has transitioned itself to be a Center of Excellence and a key Global Plant for the company.

BD is starting up a new Integrated Diagnostic Solutions (IDS) business unit in Singapore which is set to run production go-live in mid-2024. The BACTEC product line specializes in the diagnosis of sepsis by intervening in the prevention of healthcare associated infections, optimizing supportive care via antibiotic stewardship including rapid and appropriate antimicrobial therapy and subsequent escalation, and rapid and accurate blood culture diagnosis which is the gold standard for the microbiological diagnosis of sepsis. IDS Plant sets a vision to be a customer centric blood culture manufacturing plant delivering cost effective, demand driven, best-in-class quality products through our diversified, skilled, and agile workforce in a safe and empowering high growth work environment.

Impactful Workshops at BD: I attend the License to Hire workshop where Unconscious Bias was one of the topics that was covered. Knowing the types of bias such as The Mirror Image Effect, The Error of Leniency & Rushed Decision Making reminded me to minimise these biases while shortlisting & interviewing potential candidates for the roles I hired for. I realised post this workshop that it is always worth the effort to take a deliberate pause to evaluate if such biases are affecting my judgement. Furthermore, now I try my best to remind other interviewers on their biases as well and it has had a great impact!​
