The Integrated Supply Chain team are responsible to bringing billions of life-saving medical devices and diagnostics tests, high-tech instruments and equipment to customers and patients all over the world. Our aim is deliver these products at an affordable cost and of the highest quality.

About the role

As GIE Director, Global Modernization Excellence, you will be a key leader within the Equipment & Process Design (EDE) Team. You will lead initiatives that analyze legacy equipment and processes, implement modernization strategies, and increase organic capacity. This role demands strong leadership to encourage and guide teams, drive central initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing equipment/process modernization strategies - working with ISC Senior Leadership to gain approval and prioritization of the strategy.
  • Collaborating with BU leadership to understand business requirements
  • Analyzing OEE/OLE database records to assess capabilities
  • Building and managing a multi-year strategic plan
  • Establishing a modernization budget by Business Unit (BU)
  • Working with GIE PMO team to create business cases and work with the BU’s to prioritize and obtain financial support for projects
  • Leading a team to complete modernization initiatives
  • Liaising with plant leadership for resource organization
  • Gathering and analyzing technical monitoring and performance indicators from production, quality and maintenance teams.
  • Defining improvements and developments to be provided to production equipment
  • Analyzing and improving working methods on equipment (maintenance, production)
  • Validating technical choices (manufacturing methods for goods or products) and their industrial feasibility (production capacity, process reliability) by defining and supervising the performance of manufacturing tests and trials.
  • Transmission of industrialization processes guidance to technical teams
  • Identifying and addressing process malfunctions
  • Standardizing and formalizing working methods
  • Managing a team of industrialization and methods SMEs / expertise points of reference dedicated to support Process Operations projects at BDX level
  • Driving Standardization and Document/Leverage Successes
  • Leading and developing the team
  • Providing Targeted Engineering Upskilling Opportunities: Identifying areas of weakness and working with the GIE Learning Academy to offer training opportunities.

About you

You have a proven track record in engineering and leadership within a high-performance, multinational enterprise. You bring over 15 years of experience in engineering, production, maintenance, and management, particularly in the medical device or other highly regulated industries. Your expertise includes leading product/process development projects, implementing global strategies, and encouraging an inclusive team environment. A B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience is required, with an MBA or MS in Engineering preferred.

  • Broad-based business experience
  • Proven leadership in product/process development projects and capital management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement global strategies
  • Demonstrated track record of initiating, sponsoring and implementing change
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in PFMEA, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, and SPC
  • Lean / 6σ tools proficiency is essential; Black belt accreditation desirable
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
