Job Summary
The Systems Analyst – Manufacturing Digital Solutions is responsible for the analysis, design, validation, and continuous improvement of digital systems that support regulated manufacturing operations. This role focuses on the development, integration, and validation of software systems used to collect, analyze, and visualize manufacturing data such as efficiency, downtime, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The position ensures that all systems comply with FDA and GxP requirements while enabling data-driven decision-making through automated data acquisition and interactive dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Analysis & Software Development
Analyze business and manufacturing requirements to define functional and technical specifications for digital systems supporting operations.
Design, configure, and maintain software-based solutions for manufacturing data collection, processing, and reporting.
Develop and maintain automated data acquisition solutions that retrieve production data (efficiency, downtime, scrap, yield) from manufacturing and automation systems.
Support integration between shop-floor systems (PLC/HMI/SCADA) and enterprise or analytical platforms.
Dashboards & Data Visualization
Design and develop dashboards using Smartsheet, including advanced formulas, automation, workflows, and dashboards to visualize manufacturing losses and performance.
Ensure dashboards accurately represent KPIs such as OEE, downtime categories, scrap trends, and productivity metrics.
Maintain data integrity, traceability, and auditability in all reporting solutions.
Software Validation & Regulatory Compliance
Perform software validation activities in compliance with FDA, GxP, and GAMP 5 requirements.
Develop validation deliverables including URS, FS, Risk Assessments, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, and validation summary reports.
Conduct risk management activities aligned with ISO 14971 and applicable software lifecycle standards.
Ensure systems that store or process manufacturing data meet data integrity and electronic record requirements.
Manufacturing Data & Continuous Improvement
Automate the generation of performance and loss analysis dashboards to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimization using manufacturing data.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and IT teams to implement digital improvements.
Support cross-site smart manufacturing and digital transformation initiatives.
Support & Governance
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing digital systems.
Participate in system change control, periodic reviews, and audit readiness activities.
Maintain documentation throughout the system lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Experience analyzing, designing, and supporting software systems in manufacturing or regulated environments.
Experience with software validation in FDA-regulated or GxP environments.
Knowledge of manufacturing metrics such as OEE, downtime, scrap, and efficiency.
Hands-on experience with Smartsheet (advanced formulas, dashboards, and automation).
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred / Additional Skills
Experience with manufacturing automation systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA).
Experience integrating data from shop-floor equipment into reporting or analytical platforms.
Familiarity with data integrity principles and electronic records compliance.
Experience supporting smart factory or digital transformation initiatives.
