Job Description Summary
Reporting to the EMEA Senior Marketing Manager, Infection Prevention, the EMEA Business Development Manager, Infection Prevention, is responsible for driving the Infection Prevention business expansion across the EMEA region. This includes identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities, developing commercial partnerships, and critically engaging with Key Opinion Leaders to accelerate market access and product adoption in the surgical wound irrigation space.Job Description
Market development and commercial strategy
Identify market opportunities and evaluate their strategic potential across the region
Customize market entry strategies based on local maturity, access models, and competition
Contribute to regional sales forecasting and budget planning.
KOLs and societies engagement
Create and shape the market by mapping, identifying and developing KOLs in relevant surgical specialties at regional and local level, increasing awareness and adoption of our infection prevention solutions (focus wound irrigation)
Position the company as a trusted partner within the scientific community to sipport long term product adoption.
Work with surgeons and healthcare professionals to develop podium presentations, submission of Key Products abstracts, white papers and posters. Administer National and International congresses/surgical society meetings strategy to support business development in close collaborations with National Sales Managers and EMEA Marketing Lead.
Strategic monitoring and local adaptation
Elaborate deep understanding of local market specificities with regards to competition, regulations, guidelines, practice, and pricing.
Identify and elaborate strategies to overcome barriers to market access.
Feed marketing team with insights to adapt product messaging and positioning.
Commercial and cross functional support
Act as a subject matter expert for surgical wound irrigation.
Actively attend OR and support Sales Teams and surgeons when necessary, in the optimal use of the Infection Prevention portfolio.
Train and coach sales teams on indications and applications and support in operating room.
Cooperate closely with country teams to identify and provide support on prioritized opportunities.
Collaborate with EMEA marketing in administering peer-to-peer programs, centers of excellence, clinical symposia and advisory boards to drive short term awareness and adoption while developing long lasting market footprint.
Support local country teams in organizing and facilitating Educational Speaker events and other product related professional education activities
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines
About you:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
5-7 years of experience in international business development in the medical device industry
Sales experience in surgery preferred, orthopedic experience a plus
Experience working with KOLs and clinical stakeholders
Existing relationships with orthopedic surgeons thought leaders and advantage.
Strategic thinking with strong business acumen.
Strong team player and track record of working collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Motivation, perseverance, and creativity are a definitive plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SalesForce.com CRM
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to medical devices
Willingness to travel extensively, at least 60% across the region
