Job Description
We are the makers of possible!
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
We believe that the human element, across our global teams, is what allows us to continually evolve. Join us and discover an environment in which you’ll be supported to learn, grow and become your best self. Become a maker of possible with us.
Lead the execution of Value Transformation programs as a Practice Leader within BD MMS (Pharmacy & Medication Management) by overseeing Value Engineers across Pharmacy, Nursing, BD Excellence, and Change Management. Apply deep subject matter expertise in Healthcare Operations/Management—ideally with Pharmacy or Nursing domain knowledge—to drive process rigor and measurable results through standardized methods, strong governance and program management, and scalable execution models that accelerate time-to-value and sustain improvements for IDN partners. Collaborate closely with C-suite executives, department leaders, and front-line staff to co-design solutions, remove barriers, and embed practices that stick. Develop the practice with standard work, methodologies, and performance dashboards to enable repeatable, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Translate contractual commitments into executable implementation plans with clear KPIs, baselines, data sources, and validation methods; ensure feasibility and readiness across sites.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of Value Engineers (Pharmacy, Nursing, BD Excellence, and Process Improvement) to implement outcomes-focused improvements that are clinically credible, operationally executable, and financially measurable.
- Stand up and run implementation governance (portfolio/engagement tollgates, risk/issue management, dependency and change control) and a lightweight PMO cadence to compress cycle time and keep scope, timeline, and benefits on track.
- Apply SME-driven process improvement rigor: leverage Healthcare Operations/Management expertise (and Pharmacy/Nursing knowledge where relevant) with Lean/Six Sigma and proven change frameworks to standardize workflows, eliminate waste, and build control plans that ensure sustainment (audit checklists, leader standard work, dashboards).
- Establish standard work and reusable implementation methodologies (mobilization, discovery, implementation, sustainment) and quality standards to replicate results across accounts and care settings.
- Collaborate with C-suite leaders, department heads, and front-line teams to align on priorities, co-create solutions, and enable adoption via targeted training, enablement, and reinforcement tactics.
- Oversee benefits validation in partnership with Insights/Analytics and Finance; obtain stakeholder sign-off and maintain benefits traceability from baseline to steady-state.
- Drive program management discipline: detailed plans, milestones, RAID logs, decision logs, and clear escalation paths; ensure integration with customer PMOs where applicable.
- Provide structured feedback to Value Creation to refine scoping assumptions, delivery guardrails, and pricing based on delivery lessons learned.
- Build and mature the Value Engineering practice: define operational success metrics, delivery dashboards, utilization targets, and talent development plans; recruit, onboard, coach, and build succession.
- Ensure compliance with privacy/security (HIPAA/PHI) and MedTech quality expectations; uphold safety and change-control requirements throughout delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (MBA, MHA, MS).
- 7+ years in healthcare consulting, operational improvement, or transformation delivery.
- Experience in matrixed consulting environments with cross-functional delivery teams.
- Expertise in Lean/Six Sigma and change management methodologies.
- Clinical literacy across Pharmacy or Nursing preferred.
- Proven success in benefits realization, KPI management, and delivery standardization.
- Strong executive influence, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Travel Requirement: Up to 65%.
