JOB SUMMARY
The Service Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of parts and equipment across service teams, warehouses, and customer locations. This role acts as a key interface between field resources and plant supply chain teams, requiring strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills to manage logistics operations and support field service teams.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Parts Order Management & Field Support
Act as a liaison between Field Service Engineers (FSEs), plant supply chain, and distribution teams to ensure timely and accurate parts fulfillment.
Process, manage, and coordinate parts orders, including order entry, remediation, and communication with stakeholders.
Monitor and manage backorders using the Parts Escalation Team Site; provide promise dates and escalate as needed.
Make sourcing decisions quickly and effectively—whether from Distribution Centers, Forward Stocking Locations (FSLs), or other field resources.
Perform location-to-location transfer transactions in field management systems (e.g., ServiceMax).
Replenish field inventory through timely and accurate ordering.
Reassign orphaned work orders by identifying and assigning appropriate field resources using ServiceMax tools.
Support and guide offshore resources, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) in logistics processes and SAP.
Distribution Channel & Delivery Management
Manage distribution channels and proactively remediate delivery delays through effective communication and alternate planning.
Coordinate dispatch of FSEs to customer locations as needed (Baltimore Team).
Reporting & Analytics
Generate and distribute key reports, including Hot Lists for critical backorders and FSE Order Management reports for further action work orders.
Analyze SAP data to assess logistics performance and recommend process improvements.
Reverse Logistics & RGA Processing
Support reverse logistics processes for both unused good parts and defective repairable parts.
Conduct SAP transactions to receive, move, and reallocate parts across storage locations.
Prepare and ship open-box and functional parts to designated locations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Print and distribute FedEx shipping labels for RGA and RMA processes.
Single Swap Process
Act as a backup for fulfilling Single Swap product orders, including instruments, accessories, and options.
Coordinate with BD customers, Phone Support Engineers, shipping partners, and the Repair Center to ensure timely execution.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP or Oracle)
Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs in a warehouse setting
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and make quick, effective decisions
Experience with logistics coordination and field service operations
Familiarity with ServiceMax or similar field service management tools
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-3 year of experience in a customer service, logistics, or administrative role
Willingness to work in a warehouse environment (Baltimore Team)
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or equivalent experience
Experience using ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Familiarity with medical device industry regulations and compliance
