As a BD Bioscience Field Service Engineer, you will be part of a regional team of collaborative Engineers, reporting directly to the area Technical Manager. BD Biosciences (BDB) is a leading provider of high-quality flow cytometry and single-cell genomics solutions, scientific research and clinical laboratories. Here, we are leading the way by developing the best technologies that have the ability to look closer at the details of cells and diseases.
Main responsibilities will include:
Provide field-based and remote technical support to customers and colleagues in line with relevant training and experience.
You will carry out preventative maintenance, installation, relocation, repairs and corrective field change orders on Flow Cytometry instrumentation.
You will be responsible for diagnosing electrical, fluidic, mechanical, hardware, software and laser failures using established procedures and techniques.
You will determine the most cost-effective repair/solution to ensure minimum downtime.
Perform instrument certifications (IQ/OQ).
Actively manage your car stock, ensuring all necessary spare parts and tools are available.
Effective management of technical escalations.
Works toward service metrics as defined by the Service Organization
About you:
HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or extensive relevant experience as a Field Service Engineer.
A proactive approach with the ability to take lead if the situation requires it.
IT knowledge
Flow Cytometry experience is a plus
Experience working in the Telecoms, Robotics, Automation, and Medical Devices industries
The ability to process knowledge across multi-modular and diverse product ranges
Deliver high levels of customer service
Full UK driving license
Currently living within a daily commutable distance of Central London.
Physical demands:
- This is a full-time position, with evening work required as job duties demand.
- This job entails traveling to and from a customer site each day.
- An individual should be able to lift 12-15kgs, and be able to work in a standing position for a prolonged period of time.
Salary range for the role: £45,000 - £55,000 + bonus + benefits
