Job Description Summary

As a Field Service Engineer at BD BioScience, you will play a crucial role in delivering technical support and preventative maintenance for our cutting-edge Flow Cytometry instruments and systems. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure customer satisfaction through outstanding service, mastery of reported incidents, and continuous learning. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes.

This is a field based role covering Oxfordshire, Cambridge, Reading, High Wycombe and the surrounding areas.

BD Biosciences (BDB) is a leading provider of high-quality flow cytometry and single-cell genomics solutions, scientific research and clinical laboratories. Here, we are leading the way by developing the best technologies that have the ability to look closer at the details of cells and diseases.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Perform on-site technical support, including installations, deinstallations, relocations, certifications, and repairs, adhering to customer service level agreements.
  • Investigate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide remote support for technical issues reported by customers.
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute field corrective actions, upgrades, and preventive maintenance to ensure business continuity for our customers.
  • Inform and prepare customers for successful installations, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and data entry in service management systems.
  • Manage personal planning, administration, and car stock efficiently.
  • Escalate and retain ownership of technical challenges until resolution.
  • Comply with all quality, ISO, GMP, and safety regulations, upholding BD's commitment to excellence.

About you

  • HNC/Degree in engineering discipline or demonstrable work experience in field service.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Practical knowledge of computer systems, mechatronics, pneumatics, and fluidics is advantageous.
  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and dynamic planning abilities.
  • Must be based near Oxfordshire
