Job Summary

This position will assist in developing evidence-based value propositions and drive market access strategies for APM's portfolio of innovative therapeutic solutions for structural heart disease and advanced critical care technologies in the Taiwan market. 

The successful candidate will develop synergies across the organization and foster strong internal and external relationships to achieve market access goals and objectives. This position is based in our Taipei office and reports to the Senior Vice President, Medical Affair, Global APM, prof. Monty Mythen.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop health technology assessment (HTA) & reimbursement submissions by leveraging key evidence and internal resources
  • Develop materials to demonstrate product value including economic models, value dossiers, and slide presentations
  • Develop compelling health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) value propositions in partnership with business units, Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, Marketing and Clinical Affairs to
  • Lead the execution of Market Access strategies in the region to enhance patient access to APM’s technologies
  • Provide consultation to the interpretation of clinical, economic, and humanistic evidence relevant to the relevant business units
  • Present, discuss, and interpret health economic model results
  • Conduct health services research to quantify the clinical and economic impact of our innovative therapies
  • Provide appropriate guidance & support in educating sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal teams in the region to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and reimbursement competencies
  • Support effective and rapid communication with HTA and other key government bodies regarding the value of our products
  • Plan and support local economic model adaptations, especially with key clinical study results and statistical analyses

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a life science, health economics, health policy.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in the industry.
  • Formal training or experience in health economics and/or outcomes research is preferred.
  • Experience in public affairs and government relations, sales and marketing, tendering or pricing, reimbursement or health economics and outcomes research, and regulatory in multinational pharmaceutical or medical device company is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially presentation development.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills and experience working with various internal business partners (especially Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, and Government Affairs staff) to provide insight into key market access issues.
  • Previous experience in or strong working knowledge of medical device industry, especially with functional responsibility in health economics and reimbursement planning and program implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Extensive understanding of market access processes
  • Extensive understanding of healthcare industry
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to represent leadership on sections of projects within a specific area interfacing with team members and other managers and may include suppliers, vendors and/or customers
