This role will master the Production Technology and Maintenance Techniques being responsible for:• Loss (Breakdown, Waste, Speed), Investigation and Resolution
• Review and updating injection molding press maintenance standards
• Implementation of basic maintenance processes for the designated product lines
• Using technical team to build molding operator skills
• Coordinating the completion of planned maintenance activities
• Responding quickly to breakdowns to prevent downstream unplanned downtime
Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leads Loss (Breakdown, Waste, Process) Investigation and Resolution
Leads Technical Tier 1 meeting and provides engineering status of injection molding department equipment and deploys technical resource(s) to minimize losses
Resolve repeat loss issues using systematic problem-solving techniques to determine root cause
Provides leadership and supports Sr. Process Technicians and Shift Technicians/Lead Operators in Investigation of losses (Breakdowns, Waste, Speed) to ensure effective resolution
Coach Technicians and Operators in quality and effectiveness of problem-solving tools and robustness of countermeasures
Support all Operation Excellence projects and quality validations as required to help improve equipment reliability
Development of Maintenance standards
Engage with Operators and Technicians to effectively use Daily Task Maintenance and Planned and Preventative Maintenance to increase OEE and safety performance
Provide details to improve Maintenance Standards and execution (Frequency, Breakdowns and Repairs) to Reliability Leader based on problem solving outcomes and DTM/PPM activity. Coaching on continuous improvement methodologies & tools
Implementation of basic maintenance process and settings for the designated product line(s)
Engage in planning process for Maintenance activities
Coordinate Maintenance activity for respective molds and presses in conjunction with Preventative Maintenance Leader.
Maintain critical equipment settings, standards and close loop on changes made
Building skills for Technicians and Operators
Organizes Training and drives development for Operators and Technicians on molding process, mechanic skills, preventive and daily maintenance
Execution of maintenance activities in the line (planned/ unplanned when available).
Responsible for maintaining the primary equipment related to injection molding
Report and define actions for any abnormalities observed during Daily Task Maintenance / Planned Preventative Maintenance, or Breakdown repair to reduce losses
Plans and coordinates injection molding press, cooling systems, and resin delivery repairs including parts and resources required
Tracks spare parts used during maintenance / breakdowns in line maintenance requirements
Responsible for equipment breakdown response and escalation process in an expedient manner
Maintain technical skills across molding to ensure rapid response to operational issues to maintain OEE
Development of Maintenance standards for designated molding unit
Implementation of daily maintenance processes for the designated molding products
Buildingmaintenance skills for the technicians and operators as applicable

Hourly Associates: Small Team (1-10)

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Molding Engineering: Required
In lieu of required AS degree areas of focus above, an alternate AS degree focus and 5 years of Technical or Manufacturing Leadership experience: Required
Molding Processing training/certification (Paulson/RJG or comparable injection molding training): Preferred
BS Engineering Degree: Preferred
Experience:
Technical Team: 3 years of successful leadership experience required
Molding: 5 years experience molding technical support including processing, tooling, injection molding press mechanical, auxiliary equipment, resin delivery systems:required
In lieu of Molding Experience: 10 years experience with high volume manufacturing hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical technical support required
