About the Role
As VAT Manager within our RTR General Accounting team, you will lead and develop a team of professionals while ensuring efficient and compliant VAT, Swiss Inventory, and Revenue Recognition processes. You’ll drive process optimization and partner closely with GBS, BPO providers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high‑quality financial services across regions.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight
- Provide strategic direction for VAT, Swiss Inventory, and Revenue Recognition.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- Identify and implement automation, standardization, and optimization opportunities across regions.
Governance & Compliance
- Champion a solid internal control environment, ensuring SOX compliance and adherence to corporate policies.
- Mitigate financial and operational risks by embedding governance best practices.
Project & Change Management
- Lead key projects such as system upgrades and process transformations.
- Serve as a change agent, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
People Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing RTR General Accounting team aligned with BD Finance’s strategy and values.
- Drive onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- Foster an accountable, inclusive culture that supports team engagement and growth.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Oversee SLAs and key performance indicators in conjunction with BPO partners.
- Use data-driven insights to enhance performance and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Month-End Accounting & Reporting
- Ensure correctness and sign-off for month-end VAT, Inventory, and Revenue processes.
- Oversee internal and external reporting according to local legal requirements.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in VAT management and general accounting leadership.
- Strong knowledge of SOX controls, internal governance, and compliance.
- Experience leading global teams in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communicator with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel; SAP experience is a strong plus.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
- Organized planner with a mindset for continuous process improvement.
