Summary

We are looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Supervisor to manage a team of maintenance technicians responsible for the production of medical devices. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition to support production goals: Safety, quality, Delivery, and cost.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Your main goal is to maximize equipment uptime during normal production hours.  Currently there are two shifts, day and night, with two maintenance techs on each shift, four days per week.

  • Able to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with mechanical and electrical systems for automated production lines, to include linear motion, pneumatics, vacuum systems, visions systems, labelers, pick and place modules, sensing, fixturing, locating, and general conveyance of the product

  • You will be expected to assist maintenance technicians during breakdowns with technical support, identifying critical problem areas, and performing troubleshooting across multiple automated production lines

  • Controls experience and connecting to PLC’s and interpreting ladder logic are necessary.

  • Maintain, audit, and improve preventative maintenance procedures and programs.

  • Adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure that all planned preventive maintenance and repairs are executed in a timely fashion and documented according to procedures.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and lifespan. Continuously refining and updating maintenance plan and looking for alternatives to obsolete parts.

  • Assess resource skills requirements, labor loading, prioritization of work and time allocation to maintenance activities and projects within the plant.

  • Capable of troubleshooting and problem Solving for conducting root cause analysis and resolving complex equipment malfunctions and operational issues. 

  • Mentor and develop junior associates to develop skills and confidence.

  • Maintain adequate stock of spare parts and supplies and pro-actively identify gaps. 

  • Posses good oral and written communication skills and able to coordinate with quality, production departments and other departments.

Education and experience

  • Associate degree in a relevant technical field: Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Mechatronics or Automation

  • 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance in manufacturing settings. Experience in a regulated environment such us food, medical devices or pharma is desirable.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience managing direct reports.

Work environment

  • Able to lift objects up to 40 pounds and work in various physical positions, including standing, walking, and bending.

  • May involve working on ladders, requiring comfort with heights.

  •  Wearing personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection (where applicable) are required.
