The Senior Product Manager will report to the Associate Marketing Director and oversee the national marketing plan for the Urology and Critical Care business unit within the BD Interventional segment.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing marketing and sales strategies, managing the financial budget, and driving market planning activities to drive growth of the business. The role will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including sales, medical affairs, and global marketing, while maintaining primary responsibility. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager will supervise the Associate Product Manager, providing coaching, mentorship, and strategic oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the general management for the business unit in Canada, focused on commercial strategy, financial performance, demand and supply planning, budget management, and product line issue resolution as needed.
  • Prioritize goals effectively to align with business objectives, manages budgets and trade-offs within the business unit, and ensures the effective use of resources.
  • Drive strategic fact-based market planning activities and tactical implementation to accelerate growth for the platform.
  • Provide expertise in implementing and maintaining "best practices" in brand marketing, leveraging the BD Way of Marketing and the BD Way of Selling methodologies to guide and mentor junior team members. This includes setting clear performance expectations, conducting performance reviews, and identifying opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Develop a strategic product lifecycle management plan for products in the business
  • Develop comprehensive launch plans - strategies and tactics, economic modeling, demand forecasting, pricing, market access, marketing and promotion.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on commercial activities, including customer events and technical presentations.
  • Effectively collaborate with global marketing partners and other functions such as Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations.
  • Actively support and participate in RFP planning and take full responsibility for managing RFP responses throughout the entire contracting lifecycle.

Education and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 6+ years of marketing medical device experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Canadian Healthcare System and regulatory environment.

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, Marketo, etc.).
  • Excels in conveying marketing vision and strategy across all levels. Guides team members on executive presence and communication, using technology like campaign dashboards to track progress
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to effectively negotiate and persuade others.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Proven experience anticipating future customer behaviors and actions in a changing market environment and prepares BD marketing resources and activities for agile shifts in strategy and approach
  • Proven experience recommending how products and services across the business unit can be optimized to deliver a better, more connected solution and customer experience (sum greater than its parts)
  • Proven experience enhancing customer value by utilizing platforms, channels, and technology to deliver targeted messaging through an omnichannel strategy

Preferred qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree, MBA is preferred.​
  • Medical device acute care setting experience preferred.

Physical demand & Work Environment

  • Ability to travel up to 30%, may include nights and some weekend in Canada and US.

Salary ranges have been implemented to reward associates fairly and competitively, as well as to support recognition of associates’ progress, ranging from entry level to experts in their field, and talent mobility. There are many factors that contribute to the range displayed. The range displayed is comprised of wages, which includes base salary and commission, as well as certain components of our bonus programs. The salary offered to a successful candidate may vary based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, education, skills, qualifications, and work location. 

Salary Range Information:  $85000 - $135000 CAD annual.
