Job Description Summary

Responsible for implementing process continuous improvement programs in operations as well as for data and technology management to support and enable Operations processes, including data mining, business analysis, data integrity, data acquisition, ERP business systems analysis and functionality, reporting and analysis.

Uses standard and specialized business software tools to assist Operations in managing business processes and performance.

Demonstrates a specific set of in-depth skills and knowledge in area of expertise.

Accountable for setting own work direction and completing work tasks.

Has effect on quality, cost, and/or productivity, assists in carrying out business/operating plans, demonstrates some influence within work area/department/function.

Has in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills and applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations.

Works independently with minimal guidance; usually determines own work priorities and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the implementation of Kaizen events, Lean Six Sigma projects, total productive maintenance, and other operational excellence initiatives.

  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  • Communicates results to internal customers and/or external customers via telephone, email, written correspondence, and/or presentations.

  • Participates in cross-functional team meetings as needed.

  • Follows established procedures and guidelines.

  • Interacts with others to exchange information related to assigned tasks.

  • Reports progress.

  • Documents activities by entering data into computer programs (Microsoft Office, etc.) or manual systems; prepares spreadsheets, charts, etc., as appropriate.

  • Completes forms and reports according to established procedures.

  • May train other less experienced employees if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years experience with cost improvement analytics, KPIs and Kaisen events

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodology preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written channels. Ability to make effective presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
