Job Description Summary

Are you a strategic storyteller with a passion for digital innovation? BD’s Surgery business unit is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to lead the charge in crafting compelling, omnichannel content that drives engagement, boosts online conversions, and delivers a seamless customer experience.

In this high-impact role, you’ll be the content engine behind the Advanced Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R) platform, supporting the GalaFLEX product line. This is a remote position.

Advanced Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R) at BD

The AR&R Platform within the BD Surgery Division focuses on soft tissue management, with a full portfolio of best-in-class surgical solutions. AR&R is recognized as the global industry leader in hernia care and the aspirational leader in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) since the July 2021 acquisition of Tepha, Inc and the proprietary P4HB polymer for soft tissue support and regeneration.

Primary Responsibilities:

Content Strategy, Creation & Compliance

Develop high-quality, accurate content, representing the product suite, while ensuring compliance.

  • Define and implement a content strategy aligned with marketing goals.
  • Conduct audience research to tailor content to target demographics.
  • Write, edit, and oversee the production of content (blogs, emails, social media, whitepapers, videos, etc.).
  • Collaborate with our medical, regulatory and legal (MLR) teams’ guidelines.
  • Manage agency and freelance to support content development needs.

Omnichannel Content Strategy & Development
Drive the creation of integrated, customer-centric content across all platforms.

  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with product, sales, and design teams.
  • Own content and campaign calendar, planning, and goals.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy aligned with the customer journey and business goals.
  • Create compelling and brand-consistent content for web, email, social media, tradeshows, and other campaign elements.
  • Ensure structured messaging strategy and framework is applied effectively and tailed to each audience segment and channel.

eCommerce Enablement & SEO Optimization
Support the launch and growth of our new online ordering platform.

  • Collaborate on the development and rollout of the online ordering experience.
  • Own account communication strategy and execution.
  • Create content that educates and guides users through the platform.
  • Create an SEO strategy and plan the rollout; optimize all web content for SEO and monitor SERP rankings.
  • Monitor performance metrics and optimize content for engagement and conversion.

Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Use data to refine content strategies and demonstrate continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with data team to track KPIs, using this information to make informed decisions in strategy.
  • Build A/B testing strategy and content audits to find opportunities for improvement.
  • Report on content performance and provide actionable insights.

About You:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or Public Relations.
  • Industry experience in biotech, pharma, med tech or health tech/digital health is preferred, experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery a plus.
  • Agency background is desirable.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in digital content strategy and tactics including social media, content creation, editing, analytics, social media marketing, and search engine optimization.
  • Experience writing and editing for SEO, ability to follow a style guide, and ensure content accessibility and end-user readability, including strong copywriting skills, proof reading, editing, research and tone of voice.
  • Samples of writing, especially websites, blogs and social media, are required.
  • Ability to travel 10-15%.
