Summary:
To achieve sales targets in assigned territory by building new business relationships and maintaining existing ones through regular contact to secure orders for BD products and services at optimal prices and on terms favorable to BD while aligning with all applicable laws, regulations, and BD policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Implement sales strategies as defined by Sales Director.
• Work effectively within the team framework and ensure effective communication between the sales organization and other functional groups such as Marketing, Customer Service, Credit and Collections, Manufacturing, Technical Service, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs etc.
• Develops strong solid understanding of market trends, selling techniques, pricing, product features/benefits, competition, customer needs and buying practices.
• Build solid working relationships with distributors and customers.
• Maintain accurate records and reports on area performance including administrative items such as expenses and competitive activity.
• Develop and implement plans to increase market share for each product line within his/her territory.
• Make presentations to potential buyers and key decision makers within customer organizations.
• Provide feedback to Marketing regarding customer needs and preferences.
• Coordinate with Technical Services and Clinical Support staff when appropriate to provide technical assistance to customers and to resolve problems related to the use of BD products.
• Ensure timely submission of documentation required to support sales including price lists, product literature, tender documents, contracts etc.
• Monitor and report on competitors’ activities within the territory.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience.
• Knowledge of medical devices preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Proficient computer skills – MS Office, Internet usage, email, etc.
