Summary of the Role:

  • The Distribution Analyst is responsible for handling the general import and export for intercompany orders and customer orders.

  • Setting daily, weekly, monthly department priorities and goals using data-based decision-making to drive actions and resource allocation.

  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly, shipping documents to ensure accuracy and working with carriers on lane set up and lane optimization.

  • Uses continuous improvement methodologies. Achieve 100% on-time shipping through data and analytics.

Additional responsibilities

  • Proactively anticipates software and database solutions to optimize overall activity.

  • Provide overall support on distribution software and database applications.

  • Continuously drives application improvement and development projects.

  • Provides end-use support for troubleshooting as needed.

  • Become subject matter expert on all distribution software and database applications.

  • Proactively identifies system changes needed and identifies solutions to minimize software and database challenge.

  • Working with cross-functional departments across the company related to software database support.

  • Delivers consistent and timely reports as required.

  • Provides training to distribution associates for required software tools,

  • Analyze large, complex datasets using Python, SQL, and Excel to uncover actionable insights.

  • Responsible for following departmental established procedures.

  • Provides support to the supervisor and manager when necessary.

  • Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures.

  • Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures.

  • Must demonstrate a “can do” attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.

  • Performs supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to, inventory control, sourcing, vendor selection, and distribution.

  • Provide superior customer service.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent professional experience) with minimum 2 years’ experience including ERP systems management.

Required Skills:  

  • 2+ years of experience in a data analytics or supply chain analytics role, preferably in biotech or life sciences.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)required to work with various teams.

  • Strong prioritization skills required.

  • Ability to work independently and in groups effectively.

  • Must be detailed-oriented while working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and other IT applications as trained/required) with willingness to learn new software systems.

  • Minimum of 2 years of SAP/ERP experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Logistics, supply chain and distribution, parcel shipping, experience preferred.

  • Some knowledge of air freight export operations, export documentation procedures preferred. Knowledge/Experience in Cold Chain shipping preferred.

  • Associates are responsible for performing their job activities in a safe and reasonable manner and in accordance with safety requirements.

  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all activities in a manner that promotes a safe environment.

  • All injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards or conditions must be reported immediately.

  • Report any suspicious persons or activity. 

Quality

  • Understand organizational quality goals. 

  • Maintain a clean and professional image.

  • To ensure the cleanliness of the facility, follow guidelines as outlined.

  • The associate must maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area always

  • Become knowledgeable ofthe responsibilities of the other warehouse positions.

  • The associate may occasionally be required to climb. 

  • The job may require lifting up to 50lbs. in some areas but not all.
