Job Description

The Program Manager will lead projects/programs within the sustaining engineering function supporting the Reagents and Assay Platform. This job will lead and manage the portfolio of projects for ensuring consistent quality, supply and performance of products post launch and for driving changes related to quality improvements, supply transitions, cost reductions and regulatory compliance

Key responsibilities:

  • Defines program priorities, resource needs, and negotiates program resourcing plans.

  • Manages current challenges, works proactively on improving existing portfolio pipeline.

  • Ensures alignment of product value proposition, program scope, and strategic business objectives

  • Represents both internal and external customers viewpoint when leading the team to make technical and project decisions.

  • Ensures effective and efficient communication with the core team and provides periodic reports and program updates to the leadership team.

  • Demonstrates program management best practices and contributes to improving sustaining process effectiveness.

  • Leads the team to prepare for periodic update to Reagent and Assay Platform

  • Leads program planning process with the cross functional team to establish details plans, tasks, schedules and ensuring requirements are clear and driven by customer need, business challenges, or compliance issues.

  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.

  • Defines, delegates, and evaluates the roles, responsibilities, goals, and deliverables for the program and direct reports.

  • Leads cross-functional teams to resolve problems and mitigate risks.

  • Leads key technical and design reviews, and constructively challenges the team and the organization to rethink assumptions and approach challenges in new ways.

  • Highlights quality and regulatory issues to the management and ensures compliance.

  • Serves as a project and program management subject matter expert, including guiding and mentoring direct reports.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in science or engineering field with 5 years of progressive experience managing projects within the medical devices or  biotech industry is required.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills is required. 

  • Effective decision-making skills - ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments. Makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty is required. 

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of medical device, medical device accessory, and combination product global regulatory registration processes and requirements, international supply chain regulation is a plus. 

  • Self-Starter. Detail oriented. Committed. Results driven. Great teammate. 

  • Has an intermediate understanding of project management standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.  

  • Must be highly proficient with MS Project, Power BI, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams - with demonstrated ability to navigate quickly and effectively in meetings. 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent

  • PMP Certification 

  • Proficient understanding of IVD Medical Device Regulations, Product Development Process, and Operations 

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading projects in the medical device/ IVD industry.

  • Experience with reagent manufacturing or lifecycle management in a regulated environment (IVD,biotech)

  • Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment. 

  • Able to navigate SAP is a plus
