The Senior Director, Product Marketing, MMS provides strategic leadership for MMS product marketing across multiple products/categories and regions. This role sets long‑term vision, portfolio strategy and investment priorities; builds organizational capability; governs launch excellence and performance; and serves as senior spokesperson for value propositions—ensuring compliant, high‑impact execution in partnership with Platforms, R&D, Regulatory, and Regions.

Responsibilities:

Strategy, Portfolio & Investment:

  • Set the multi‑year product marketing vision and global launch strategy aligned to BU objectives; prioritize bets and allocate budgets to maximize ROI.
  • Own category‑level positioning architecture and integration with brand/commercial strategies; ensure global consistency with regional flexibility.
  • Sponsor business cases and funding for transformational initiatives; steward P&L impact, risk/mitigation, and stage‑gate governance.

Organization Leadership & Capability:

  • Build and lead a high‑performing product marketing organization; define operating model, roles, processes and development paths of the Product Marketing team.
  • Drive capability building (insights, messaging, claims governance/Veeva, omnichannel excellence) and institutionalize best practices.
  • Establish succession plans and performance systems; recruit, develop and retain diverse talent consistent with BD Leadership expectations.

Launch Excellence & Market Outcomes:

  • Govern cross‑functional launch excellence across Regions; ensure stage‑gate discipline, KPI attainment and post‑launch optimization.
  • Define enterprise‑level measurement and dashboards; lead quarterly/annual performance reviews and course‑correct to deliver commercial outcomes.

Compliance, Labeling & External Representation:

  • Provide executive oversight for AdProm/MLR approvals and Labeling Impact Assessments (LIAs); ensure compliance, risk management and brand consistency.
  • Serve as senior spokesperson for product value propositions with customers, KOLs and partners, in coordination with Medical and Commercial leadership.

Stakeholder Influence & Cross‑Functional Partnership:

  • Partner with Platforms, R&D, Regulatory, and Regions to align portfolio choices with clinical and commercial imperatives.
  • Communicate strategy, trade‑offs and recommendations to executive leadership; influence decisions across geographies and functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years in product marketing/medtech commercialization with proven leadership of multi‑market portfolios and organizations.
  • Track record of delivering measurable commercial outcomes, building capabilities and navigating complex matrix structures.
  • Adept at managing compliance risk while enabling speed.
  • Advanced financial fluency (P&L ownership, pricing, investment cases) and executive communication/presentation skills.
