Job Description Summary
The CI Line Leader is responsible to provide direction, motivation, and support to associates to achieve manufacturing production and quality goals. This person will become an expert in the processes in their area and fills in on the production line as needed to ensure smooth product flow and transitions between work orders and shifts.The CI Line Leader ensures the proper training of associates, and compliance with established procedures. The CI Line Leader is the point person to lead the group through root cause analysis and to drive for continuous improvement of the manufacturing equipment and processes.
Good communication and time management are required, as this person will conduct and document training, maintain all process documentation, help update work instructions, and coordinate product and associate scheduling with other CI Line Leaders and shifts.
This person will provide support to the Manufacturing Coach for the daily operations and overall performance

SCHEDULE: 12 HOURS SHIFT (D-SHIFT)
NIGHT POSITION: 5:30 PM TO 6:00 AM, WORKING EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)
1. Monitor team members to ensure compliance to task docs, standard work, and the quality plan.
2. Directs daily work for the work team.
3. Makes or assists with changes to Standard Work Instructions.
4. Direct training for the people in their areas.
5. Balances their time on the production line between production needs and CI Line Leader responsibilities. Works on the production line a minimum of 20% of their time.
6. Be able to lift/pull/push and move product up to 50lbs throughout the shift. Use dollies and pallet jacks.
7. Responsible for all process documentation accuracy, completion, and handoff.
8. Report attendance, scheduling, and direct the resource allocation.
9. Work shifts will offset the current production schedules. CI Line Leader interacts with associates on two shifts to share best practices, create standardization, and ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
10. Be the first responder when an issue is identified, lead the root cause and corrective action investigation, and escalate as required.
11. Enable the development and training of associates by responding to requests and department needs.
12. Proactively work to anticipate problems before they impact production.
13. Provide critical input to performance appraisals.
14. Champion process improvements and ensure that changes associated with Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are implemented consistently in their area.
15. Learn, model, and mentor team members to learn CI principles.
16. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous waste regulations.
17. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

Education and Experience:
This position requires:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two years experience in an automated manufacturing environment (Preferably medical device manufacturing).
