Associate Director - ISC Finance PI

The Director of ISC (Integrated Supply Chain) Finance is a critical role in the end-to-end supply chain management team. This position partners with the VP ISC to lead Plant Controllers (Senior Managers) and Platform Associate Directors of Finance (where applicable). This position also partners with the VP Finance for the business to ensure ISC strategies are reflected accurately in the P&L.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) for the manufacturing plants and OCOS (Other Cost of Sales)

    • Oversight for the monthly financial impact versus budget/forecast

    • Prepare and communicate actionable reporting to ISC and Business leadership teams

  • Financial Modeling and decision making (Make vs Buy, Site impacts, etc)

  • Accountable for successful budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for manufacturing plants and related ISC functions

  • Business partner to the VP of ISC  

  • Actively participates on the ISC Finance leadership council 

  • Creates an open, inclusive environment for employees to grow and challenge themselves

  • Leader should create a culture of innovation; enabling teams to develop solutions to business problems and elevating those ideas that are successful to the broader group to achieve economies of scale

  • Ensures accounting treatments are accurate and enforce to GAAP – proactively engages the Controller organization for technical treatments where disagreement or uncertainty exists

  • Align with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Stay in sync with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles

  • Plant site and headquarter visits, as the need arises

  • Ad hoc support or special projects, as required

Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance Required

  • MBA/ CPA/ CMA preferred

  • Operations Finance, Costing & Analysis background

  • 7+ years of relevant accounting/FP&A experiences

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Previous experience within BDX ISC Finance preferred

  • Strong Financial systems and tools knowledge and utilization skills (HFM, SAP, JDE, BPC)

  • Sophisticated proficiency in Excel as proven by previous experience crafting and manipulating complex spreadsheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) required

  • Previous ERP costing experience (SAP / JDE highly desirable) related to standard cost build-ups and work order variance analysis

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Proven ability to utilise logic, reasoning, and critical thinking in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with and challenge partners to drive initiatives and deliver high impact solutions to meet business needs.

  • Resilient and persistent when faced with obstacles

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and handle multiple/meticulous tasks

  • Strong collaboration and demonstrated ability to establish relationships and build rapport with all stakeholders, and influence management through informed discussions and presentations
